Prof. Ahmed Shetawy

Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shetawy has 25 years of experience working in the fields of urban planning, urban development, urban design and architecture. Provided his extensive exposure to the British higher education and research environment, as the former Egyptian Cultural and Educational Attache in UK and Ireland, he actively participated in formulating and developing curricula, programs, bylaws and policies for the consideration of public and private universities with respect to the urban planning, urban development, urban design, and architecture fields.

Prof. Shetawy has coordinated funded academic activities and projects between Egypt, UK, Belgium, Netherlands, Hungary, and Czech Republic as well as local National Projects in the field of urban planning, urban development, urban design and architecture. He has over 15 years of experience in supervising and examining PhD and MSc students from National and International Universities, over 20 years of teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in public and private universities, and yet over 25 years of technical and practical experience in the fields of urban planning, urban development, urban design, and architecture. He also served as short-term consultant for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UNHABITAT), USAID and other.

Prof. Shetawy has published over 20 scientific and technical papers in national and international scientific journals and periodicals in addition to numerous technical reports. He is an academic referee to many of renowned publishers such as Science Direct and Elsevier and their affiliate Journals and Magazines. He is also a member of various academic and management committees as well as a member of leading technical associations, societies, and syndicates of his concerned fields of specialty.
