Amr Abdallah is an Assistant Professor at May University in Cairo, Accounting Department, where he joined in 2022. Prior to his appointment, he served as an Assistant Professor at Ahram Canadian University, Accounting Department from 2017 to 2022. Prior to his appointment, he served as a teaching assistant and assistant Lecturer at El Shorouk academy from 2004 to 2017. Abdallah completed his B.Sc. (2003) and M.Sc. (2013) in Accounting from Cairo University, Egypt. His master’s thesis work investigated “the Effects of Balanced Scorecards (BSC) Implementation on Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) Performance”, while Ph.D. (2020) in Accounting from Cairo University, Egypt. His Ph.D.’s thesis (2020) titled “The Impact of Management Control Systems Practices on Product Innovation”.
Abdallah has participated in British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA) conference three times since 2015. also, he is a reviewer member at International Journal of Emerging Markets. Abdallah’s research interests focus on Management Control Systems, Management Accounting Practices, Balanced Scorecard (BSC), Innovation, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Abdallah’s teaches many courses including Financial Accounting, Taxation, Cost Accounting, Managerial Accounting, International Accounting, Operation Research, Auditing, Accounting Information System, Financial Reporting and Governmental Accounting. Abdallah has been involved in the execution of the following extracurricular activities. Examples are organizing Auditing Simulation workshop in cooperation with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), organizing Bank Simulation workshop with Egyptian Banking Institute, and organizing field visits to the Egyptian Stock Exchange. Additionally, he organized graduation projects discussion in agreement with Nile Cultural Channel and facilitated obtaining a trading screen of shares and bonds in the Egyptian Stock Exchange in agreement with the Egyptian Information Publishing Company (Mubasher).
